Dating/Romance sites live or die on their search engine. This is me first day here and am highly disappointed in the search engine. I am a Hetero Dom. I do not want ANY males in me search result period. I want only sub fems. Natural born fems that is. This should be easy to do, but not so, we are provided with only 2 search criteria which is pretty lame TBH. Even when I waste one of those checking female only, I get trans-gendered folks. Sorry not me thing. I also got fem Doms in the search result, not switches just Doms. Wastes a lot of time and could lead to accidentally mailing somebody who did not match your interests at all.
When you are talking about an area as vast as b d s m, you want to search for specific ----- and such. One of the failings of this site is the lack of this. Nor is there any provision for limits, specific interests and many other D/s specifics. I haven't yet looked at other areas but suspect the same could be true of those. These problems appear to come from first somebody outside the lifestyle setting up the various sub systems. This isn't a fast food joint. People with specific interests have very specific jargon, particulars and considerations. The second is if the folks coding the site hard coded much of the site, this would make it difficult to create a varied experience rich in content for the specific needs of various interests. Since the site uses PHP it would not be exceptionally difficult to remedy this.
What the b d s m section needs in terms of search greatly exceeds what it is currently capable of. Thus people are not likely to stick around. There needs to be a clear way to search and indicate what it is that you enjoy and what it is that you want. Then filter search results based on these criteria.
Another suggestion about searching allow certain things to be collapsed. For example I am not Indian and have no clue what the page long Indian sub section is about, but it does make it tedious to get to the sections I do want to fill in. I would suggest making all the top headings collapsed by default, then when you click into it, expand them to allow choices, then collapse it back when done. This would encourage more people to fill out those sections thus making searching more effective.
