I first looked into the b d s m culture a while back and now I am again interested. I am the oldest of 5 and we lived in a NOT garden variety environment, I don't mean se---lly, I mean the environment outside of the house. As a result I have very strong natural protective tendencies that I have been sorting out my entire adult life. I had never considered that events early in my life could shape me for my entire life. I had been on what I thought was a normal path, whatever normal means, but I always managed to put myself in a position where my big brother instinct was put to use, in relationships, at work etc where I was in the position of the "giver" or the "enabler". This was great at work, it was natural for me to just take control, BUT in s----l relationships it gets in the way, I get labeled as "demanding" and that prevents me from pushing forward for my own personal need. The big brother persona keeps popping up and taking control away from the personal me. Until now, or recently, I discovered b d s m and did some reading on the D/s aspect of this culture and I also called my life long buddy from High School who has been involved in D/s relationships for over 20 years. The more I read about this idea the more it feels like a natural fit and I feel the energy turn on when I'm just thinking about it . I as a Dom can look out for my own personal interests and I need the right submissive for that to work, and she, the submissive, is looking for a strong capable hand to protect and guide her. We, the D and the s, are the two elements in the duality of our D/s relationship or bonding pair. It's like the two sides of a coin, it's just as natural as can be. The b d s m culture provides the framework or the foundation that we two can build on to better communicate with each other about getting our respective needs met. She submits to me and gets great S-- out of it and I Dominate her, in a fair and just manner that we have agreed upon and I get great S-- out of it.
